We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our team at a downstream partner in eastern North Carolina. This candidate will be supporting a new unit/process for Anhydrous Hydrogen Fluoride (AHS) and optimizing the current structure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to improve equipment reliability and availability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance plans based on historical data and industry best practices.
  • Analyze equipment performance data using reliability tools like FMEA and Weibull analysis .
  • Lead or support continuous improvement projects focused on equipment reliability and process optimization.
  • Manage critical spare parts inventory to ensure availability while minimizing excess.
  • Support capital projects by reviewing equipment specifications and providing input on reliability and maintainability.
  • Monitor KPIs related to equipment reliability, downtime, and maintenance costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations .


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering , or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering , preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with RCM, RCA, FMEA , and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP or Maximo ).
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., OSHA ).
  • Strong problem-solving skills .


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in phosphate, ammonium phosphate , or hydrofluoric acid .
  • Experience with static and rotating equipment . I/E experience is a plus.
