Position Summary
The IT Technical Associate (Senior Identity Access Management (IAM) Engineer) will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust IAM solutions with a focus on identity lifecycle management, access governance, and compliance. The IAM Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that access controls are effectively enforced, identities are securely managed, and compliance requirements are met.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Architecture Design: Design and implement IAM architectures and solutions with a focus on identity governance and administration (IGA) solutions. Develop scalable and secure IGA workflows, policies, and procedures to manage user identities and access rights.
- Identity Lifecycle Management: Implement and manage processes for user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access review. Automate identity lifecycle management tasks to streamline user onboarding, offboarding, and access requests.
- Access Governance: Define and enforce access governance policies and controls to ensure that users have the appropriate level of access based on their roles and responsibilities. Implement role-based access control (RBAC), entitlement management, and access certification processes.
- Access Request and Approval Workflows: Develop and implement access request and approval workflows to streamline access provisioning and ensure proper authorization. Integrate access request systems with ticketing and workflow automation tools.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to access control and identity management. Conduct access reviews, audits, and certifications to monitor and enforce compliance.
- Integration with IAM Platforms: Integrate IGA solutions with IAM platforms and directory services to synchronize user identities and access rights across the organization. Implement connectors and APIs for seamless integration with HR systems, directories, and application repositories.
- Security Automation and Orchestration: Develop scripts, workflows, and automation tools to streamline IGA processes and tasks.
- Reporting: Assist in developing reports, metrics, and KPIs for identity and access management processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices and solutions related to identity and access management.
- On-call 24x7 operational support.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree - Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, related information management field or a clinical area of study.
- Minimum of four (4) years professional level IT experience within IS Security which includes; demonstrated experience in assessing, monitoring and maintaining, and evaluating information security policies and systems, including hardware, firmware and software; ensure that clinical and financial information is secure in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements. Also demonstrated planning, maintaining, implementing and evaluating the secure management of electronic data whether at rest, in motion or in use or related Clinical Experience.
This position requires Illinois residency within 180 days of the hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred five years' experience in implementing and maintaining IAM solutions, including SailPoint identity governance and administration, in healthcare and/or higher education institutions.
- Understanding of IAM principles and best practices.
- Strong design, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong scripting/programming skills to automate IAM tasks as needed.
- Identity and Access Management, identity governance and administration, digital identity, scripting/programming skills.
