Volt is immediately hiring a Corporate Controls Engineer in Garland, TX . Relocation assistance is available! This is a nicotine free facility.

As a Corporate Controls Engineer , you will be part of the Corporate Controls Engineering Department. You will work on controls and automation projects to install new manufacturing systems and upgrade existing manufacturing systems in all of our client's manufacturing facilities. You will provide on-site support for controls and automation activities at the manufacturing facility.

The Corporate Controls Engineer will report directly to the Corporate Controls Engineering Manager.

Within this role, you will:

  • Develop/Install/Commission Plant Controls and Automation Systems, including PLC Programming, HMI Development, and MES Data Collection.
  • Provide Controls and Automation Systems Technical Support, utilizing the HELP Desk System.
  • Design and Specification of Plant Control System Architecture, including Control Panels, Hardware, and Communication Protocols.
  • Develop/Enforce process controls standards.
  • Provide partnership and direction of 3rd Party Controls Engineering partners.

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college/university; industry experience will be considered in the absence of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years working within a Controls and Automation Engineering role in the food and beverage, Consumer Goods, or similar industry.
  • Advanced Ladder Logic Programming within Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix).
  • Advanced HMI Development is required, preferably within Wonderware (Aveva) Archestra System Platform.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles.
  • Familiarity with Design/Specification of Process Control Panels.
  • Experience in food and beverage, or similar industry with high sanitary standard utilizing CIP cleaning and sterilization.
  • Experience with Wonderware MES, or a similar MES platform.
  • Experience with .NET programming environment.
  • Experience with SQL databases.
  • Experience with Ethernet/IP communication within a plant control system.
  • Excellent formal and informal communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office).
  • Ability to travel, up to 25%.



Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 per year

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
