The Opportunity
Our client is a small, innovative, privately owned architectural products company and has hired us to seek out an Embedded Systems Engineer for their Harrisburg, PA location.
This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is designing, modernizing, and maintaining hardware and firmware control systems used in their products.
The ideal candidate will have experience:
Qualifications include:
Designing electrical controllers that meet or exceed all related safety code requirements
Learning and maintaining existing hardware and software
Engineering and designing microcontroller based mixed signal circuit boards and Systems
Suggesting and implementing product improvements that lower costs while maintaining reliability and improving performance
Identifying alternative electrical components that meet or exceed current specifications
Creating detailed CAD drawings
Assisting in the development of test fixtures and work instructions
Developing and maintaining Bills of Material
Ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, regulations and best practices
Providing technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders through technical reports, documentation and presentations
Requirements include:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related
Proven experience in embedded systems development
Hardware and Firmware development experience
Proven experience developing & writing code for microprocessor/microcontroller-based systems in Assembly and higher-level languages
Experience with Microchip Software development, coding, and testing. Write and document straightforward code in at least one language.
Proficiency or proven ability to execute circuit board design, schematic generation, and PCB layout tools using Altium PCB Designer.
