We are seeking an architect, civil engineer, structural engineer, mechanical engineer, or electrical engineer to serve as a construction manager overseeing all phases of construction and contract administration for building projects.

This position manages, both professionally and collaboratively, all phases of construction for new construction and renovation projects in this supervisory leadership position, interfacing with project stakeholders and using agencies, as well as providing guidance, mentorship, and supervision to a small team of construction managers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:
Graduation from a four-year college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technologies with a bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering or architectural field; plus five years of progressively responsible professional experience in the appropriate engineering field.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, driving record check, and a pre-employment physical examination to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three or more years of supervisory experience or leadership responsibilities for engineers and other construction professionals.
  • Three or more years of experience in construction management tasks such as reviewing plans & specifications, schedule analysis, cost control, QA/QC, safety management, communication & reporting, construction contract administration, and taking on the role of “Responsible in Charge.”
  • Three or more years of experience in construction contract administration of complex building and major public works projects.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of construction schedules including schedule logic and software programs, construction claims and their mitigation.
  • Proven track record of information technology skills including use of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Advanced information technology skills including use of Microsoft Project or Primavera scheduling software.
  • At least two years of experience of local, federal, and state building and site development codes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to hear normally to recognize the sound of construction equipment, warnings, and alarms at construction sites and office environments. Ability to lift 30 lbs. Ability to produce handwritten and typed documents. Able to safely climb construction ladders up to 18 feet or more per floor with the potential of multiple floors and able to go up and down stairs for multi-story buildings. Must be able to physically negotiate rough and slippery terrain found at typical construction sites. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
