Shift - 2nd shift
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Engineering Technician 4 works under limited supervision to provide a variety of support to production, quality, and engineering teams. This role will be responsible for the improvement and implementation of procedures throughout the plants and will be involved in testing, implementation and scoping of projects, and ones that require the use of independent judgment in determining a course of action. This position will assist with the setup of new production systems and may train machinists, operators and inspectors. The Engineering Technician must have strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of a variety of machining processes. Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. This level will effectively train others and may lead smaller projects.
REQUIREMENTS
AA or AS degree; and high school diploma
8+ yrs. of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, in a manufacturing/production environment.
Ability to read, write and comprehend verbal as well as written instructions in English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure including common and decimal fractions.
Ability to use a microscope,
Ability to read blueprints/mechanical drawings, depending on the specific function.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.; 20/20 corrected vision may be required - varies by division
Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or cleanroom apparel.
Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop.
Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
Intermediate computer skills including typing, excel, SAP and outlook.
Ability to train others effectively
Pass Drug Screen and Background check
Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, Lean and Six Sigma Principles preferred.
Eligible to work in an ITAR environment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Documents, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence, and processes in the manufacture of final product.
- Establishes process and builds prototype level products to ensure customer quality and delivery requirements. May oversee the starting, running, and upgrading of manufacturing processes to maximize productivity without sacrificing quality requirements.
- Creates work instructions and other associated process documentation following documented procedures. Trains others on a a variety of processes. May develop new processes and document.
- Performs analytical and diagnostic engineering tests. Establishes parameters for a DOE or other problem-solving tools to define root cause.
- Visually inspects parts at required steps in the process with attention to detail, ensuring the parts are within specified tolerances. May disposition of reject parts.
- Performs complex maintenance, set-up, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment. Responsibilities may include the programming or calibration of equipment.
- May assist with managing onsite repairs or sub-contractors. This can include collecting quotes, entering requisition and/or working with supply management.
- Analyzes problems and addresses RCCAAs using intuitive and analytical methods such as 8-D & 5 Why Analyses.
- Takes ownership of projects and managing of results from cradle to grave with guidance from Engineering team. Capable of leading small projects and supervising others on these tasks or work groups.
- Works directly with, and often trains manufacturing employees (operators, inspectors, and machinists) on the production floor.
- May assign and check work of lower-level technicians and operators.
- Evaluates designs and processes; makes improvements or recommendations for improvement.
- May write technical reports in analysis of new machinery, production processes and process changes. Strong technical writing skill and effective presentation skills using PowerPoint and excel.
