An aerospace client is looking for a Military Systems Engineer with Secret Clearance whose activities include system safety analysis of military weapon systems, participation in risk assessments/resolution, and mishap investigations.
Location: Northridge, CA 91324 (On-site)
Position: Military Systems Engineer with Secret Clearance
Pay Rate : $57-$72/hr. on W2 (depending on experience)
Duration : 9 months or longer
Shift: 9×80 A, M-TH: 9 hours, Friday = 8 hours, following week M-TH: 9 hours and Friday OFF
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Activities include system safety analysis of military weapon systems, participation in risk assessments/resolution and mishap investigations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Possess active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years)
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 9 years of relevant/related experience or a MS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 7 years of relevant/related experience
  • Demonstrated ability in the application of MIL-STD-882E to analyze, recommend, and drive safety into system design, equipment and procedures in order to mitigate or eliminate hazards4
  • Experience documenting hazards with a closed-loop Hazard Tracking System (HTS)
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit design
  • Demonstrated ability to apply system safety engineering principles to develop safety documentation in accordance with MIL-STD-882E such as SSPP, PHA, FHA, SHA/SuSHA, Bent Pin Analyses, FTA, SAR and Software Safety Analyses
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, review, update, and approve system safety artifacts and system safety requirements
  • History of demonstrated leadership capabilities, ability to work independently, and effectively communicate (verbal and written) with internal and external customers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit schematics
  • Experience with implementing and testing software safety requirements
  • Have experience in the design of missile systems
  • Strong working knowledge of military system safety and process standards and their Industry equivalent such as MIL-STD-882, RCC 319, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, AFOSH, AOP-52, JOTP-051, PESHE, NFPA
  • Knowledge of the System Safety Incident Investigation process
