We have an exciting Engineering Supervisor opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join the Netherlands MQ-9A FMS Program team to work closely with the program management team(s) and support customer pursuits, identify requirements, develop program plans, support proposal activity, and facilitate technical program execution for MQ-9A UAS.

This position exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and coordinates technical aspects from program inception to product delivery. The position requires interface with international customer(s), foreign and domestic vendors, GA-ASI program stakeholders, and the USAF Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program office.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Formulates plans and guides the development and implementation of engineering solution(s) including deployment, resource requirements, testing, documentation, integration and compliance and safety.
  • Advises or directs the activities of assigned project(s)/program(s) to achieve technical objectives.
  • Directs and allocates technical resources and professional staff to achieve program objectives.
  • Serves as a key team member in proposal development and program standup.
  • Must be able to liaison with functional groups to meet program objectives while monitoring budget and schedule constraints.
  • May represent the organization and program as an engineering technical contact.
  • Provides leadership for a project/program and provide direction and guidance to less experienced professional staff or team of professional staff.
  • Experience as trusted liaison between functional engineering, production, test and the customer.
  • May coordinate troubleshooting, analysis, and repair guidance for fielded customer equipment.
  • Determines annual and multi-year technical objectives for designated engineering systems or project(s)/program(s).
  • Publish and present technical papers and participate in internal and external technical program reviews.
  • Plan for future applications of solutions based on IRAD activity and new developments in engineering technology.
  • Travel up to 25% is required to support meetings which will occur both in the US and internationally.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures compliance, reporting, and safety standards are maintained.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, seven or more years of experience with a master's degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrates extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals, and capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact, as well as providing leadership and guidance to less experienced professionals.
  • Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to work extended hours as required.
  • A Professional Engineering License, original work(s) published in professional engineering journals, and invited to present one or more original works to an engineering symposium are desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
  • Desired Qualifications:
    • Experience leading; development and integration and test of new technologies.
    • Experience with production oversight, payload integration, and fielding experience preferred.
    • Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) system and operations knowledge.
    • Ability to communicate and conduct technical briefings with MQ-9A customers and business partners.
    • Extensive knowledge in project management practices and principles.
    • Knowledge of DoD requirements generation and military system acquisition processes.
    • Background or previous experience in general aviation, aviation regulations, air traffic management, or pilot experience.
    • Experience with international programs and/or USAF FMS programs.
    • Candidate is desired to have experience with Product Management, Proposal Development, Basis of Estimation, and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
