JOB OVERVIEW:

DKKD Staffing staffed the VP Engineering that this role reports to as well as the VPIT and many others under the CTO over the past 10 years. As our client continues to expand their global presence, we are looking for a skilled API Integration Engineer to join our client’s team and help enhance their partnerships with Global Distribution System (GDS) partners.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • We are seeking an API Integration Engineer to play a critical role in the integration of our client’s services with partners. The API Integration Engineer will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain API integrations that enable partners to access and book our client’s hospitality services.
  • This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for being the primary technical contact for all partners to support them during all phases of partner integration with our APIs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, Implementation, and Testing: Design, implement, and rigorously test API integrations based on system requirements, ensuring reliability and accuracy in data exchange.
  • API Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of APIs, including streamlining and automating partner onboarding processes, technical API integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Enhancing API Documentation: Continuously improve and update API documentation, making it comprehensive and accessible to partners.
  • Primary Technical Contact: Act as the primary technical contact for all partners, providing support and guidance during all phases of partner integration.
  • API Integration Toolkit: Build and maintain an API integration toolkit for integration, testing, and debugging purposes.
  • Partner Interaction: Attend client calls with partners to gather integration requirements and provide updates on integration progress.
  • Writing Clean and Scalable Code: Write clean, scalable code using Java and other relevant technologies.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices to protect sensitive customer data.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize API integrations for speed and efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align integration efforts with business goals.
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and address integration issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of integration configurations and changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in API integration, preferably in a travel or hospitality industry context.
  • Proficiency in Java and other relevant programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles.
  • Familiarity with API authentication methods (OAuth, API keys, etc.).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git).
  • Knowledge of data formats such as JSON and XML.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
  • Knowledge of GDS systems is a plus.
