About The Role

Software developed for the medical device industry requires rigor and attention to detail to meet industry and regulatory standards. It takes someone who can problem solve, is unwilling to give up, and is in tune with the highly regulated nature of medical device software. We’re looking for a top-notch software engineer with a focus on quality who has experience with Android development in Kotlin. Additionally, experience with iOS Development is a plus.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  1. Develop a BLE-intensive native mobile application for Android using Kotlin and/or Java
  2. Participate in code and design reviews
  3. Produce highly testable code
  4. Write automated tests including unit, integration, and functional tests
  5. Participate in design reviews to provide architectural feedback
  6. Conduct code reviews with your peers
  7. Conform to a highly regulated software environment
  8. Focus on patient safety
  9. Continuously improve process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  2. 3-5 years of experience developing Android applications, with a minimum of 1 year using Kotlin
  3. Experience with agile software development including Kanban
  4. Experience with continuous integration
  5. Strong understanding of git, pull request/merge request workflow, and DevOps services like GitLab or GitHub
  6. Experience writing unit tests for Android

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Working knowledge of continuous integration for Android
  2. Experience working with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/RxJava, and Retrofit
  3. Experience creating automated UI tests with Espresso or Appium
  4. Exposure to building mobile applications in iOS with Swift
  5. Ability to develop web applications using Java/J2EE technologies
  6. Understanding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  7. Experience developing software within a regulated environment in the medical industry
  8. Experience with security tools and products
  9. Team player willing to collaborate with peers
  10. Effective communicator & writer
