What Product Engineering contributes to Cardinal HealthEngineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes.Product Engineering is responsible for developing iterations, modifying, implementing and supporting existing products that function within the product families through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices.Our Cyclotron Engineers provide support to our PET production sites that manufacture product from about midnight through 9 am in the morning. Engineers provide maintenance to the manufacturing systems (cyclotron and chemical synthesis units) outside of these hours and are also on call during if there are issues during production. The systems we work with are radioactive so for safety reasons much planned maintenance is performed late afternoons, evening, and weekends.The primary work environment consists of a cyclotron and associated manufacturing facility for the production of PET radiopharmaceuticals, which must be kept clean, orderly, properly lighted and maintained in optimum operating condition. Employees handle radioactive materials and are exposed to very low amounts of radiation that are deemed safe by current standards.ResponsibilitiesProvides support to on-site manufacturing Operations staff for troubleshooting and repairing of all cyclotron systems, support, production, and quality analysis equipment.Effectively executes the established maintenance program for cyclotron facility based on production demands and business needs.Maintains service tools and site level parts inventory as required by the manufacturing preventive / corrective maintenance program.Acts as a subject matter expert and provides support to other locations and engineers.Provides technical support in investigations of equipment and production failures ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed to a satisfactory level.Conducts ongoing analysis to determine equipment trends and performance metrics to maintain reliable, consistent production.Implements performance and reliability improvements for assigned systems with guidance from Regional Engineer.Performs any other miscellaneous engineering duties as required to ensure the goals and objectives of the department are met.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience (Engineering, Biotechnology, Physical sciences, Chemistry, Nuclear Power school) preferred4-8 years of work experience preferredExperience in troubleshooting and repair of large scale (electronic, computing & mechanical) systemsExperience in pharmaceutical manufacturing in FDA-regulated environment, or comparable mechanical, electronic, laboratory background is preferredWorking knowledge of Radiation Safety, ALARA Concepts and Radioactive Materials license and handling is preferredAbility to lift containers weighing up to 50 lbsCrawling, stooping, crouching, and kneelingWhat is expected of you and others at this levelApplies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projectsMay contribute to the development of policies and proceduresWorks on complex projects of large scopeDevelops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problemsSolutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectivesCompletes work; independently receives general guidance on new projectsWork reviewed for purpose of meeting objectivesMay act as a mentor to less experienced colleaguesAnticipated salary range: $78,500 - $117,705Bonus eligible: NoBenefits: Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.Medical, dental and vision coveragePaid time off planHealth savings account (HSA)401k savings planAccess to wages before pay day with myFlexPayFlexible spending accounts (FSAs)Short- and long-term disability coverageWork-Life resourcesPaid parental leaveHealthy lifestyle programsApplication window anticipated to close: 10/15/2024 *if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.The salary range listed is an estimate.
