Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

1. The Sr. Reliability Engineer drives mechanical asset availability for their assigned production unit and forecasts capital and maintenance needs to reduce risks to production OEE and maintenance budget.
2. Ensure the availability and ability of mechanical assets to meet the unit’s production goals.
3. Supports both capital and expense projects to ensure design is both reliable and maintainable.
4. Identify needed maintenance technician training and procedure development.
5. Identify and implement Cost Improvement and Cost Avoidance opportunities.
6. Respond to equipment failures and ensure that the daily production goals are achieved.
7. Support maintenance and capital replacements, repairs, and overhauls to mechanical equipment assets, including rotating & stationary equipment.
8. Write maintenance procedures, job plans and repair plans.
9. Document equipment failure history and costs using SAP and OEE data.
10. Perform routine mechanical equipment troubleshooting.
11. Perform repair vs. replacement analysis on equipment.

Requirements

1. The Sr. Reliability Engineer will have a BSME and 8+ years of experience on fixed equipment in a chemical plant or refinery.
2. Rotating and fixed equipment troubleshooting and specification.
3. Experience with modeling tools such as Fathom, Compress, Aspen or Solidworks.
4. CMRP, Vibration Analysis Lev 1, Pump and Mechanical Seal Training Courses, API Certs preferred.
5. Knowledge of PSM compliance.
6. Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
