About The Team

The ML Infra team is growing and we are looking for talented engineers to join us. Nuro is pursuing an ML-first software stack. Our team provides solutions to empower machine learning development in Nuro and optimize offboard training and onboard inference. Our solutions include a distributed training platform, ML compiler, model components libraries, etc.

We are looking for engineers to drive the development of the ML compiler, the key technology to optimize our advanced deep learning models and deploy it onboard. Your role combines the exploration of leading-edge model compilation algorithms, engaging with modern hardware functionalities, and researching performance-optimized deep learning architectures. Leveraging this knowledge, you will engineer the ML compiler solution to optimize the models running onboard.

About The Work

• Spearhead the creation of state-of-the-art machine learning compiler technology. Focus on enhancing the latency and memory efficiency of deep learning models for onboard inference.
• Conduct thorough profiling of current deep learning models to pinpoint inefficiencies. Collaborate closely with machine learning engineers to refine and redesign models, aiming to significantly boost their performance.
• Lead the charge in incorporating cutting-edge technologies, tools, and algorithms. Your goal will be to substantially elevate the efficiency and effectiveness of our deep learning models.
• Take the initiative to refine and optimize the existing codebase related to model inference technologies at Nuro. Your efforts will be key in enhancing machine learning development productivity and effectiveness.

About You

• 2+ years of work experience in machine learning or backend infrastructure.
• Have knowledge in using at least one deep learning framework, e.g., Tensorflow, Pytorch, Caffe. Be able to implement basic deep learning algorithms, e.g., classification, detection.
• Proficient in C++/C and Python. Strong coding ability.
• You are passionate about accelerating the benefits of robotics for everyday life.

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $138,225 and $207,575 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
