Job Requirements / Description
  1. PRIMARY DUTIES:
  1. Directly support the Business Development Manager in executing the APQP process - including prototyping, process and tooling development and qualification, determining process capability, packaging/labeling, process documentation and associate training.
  2. Preparation of PPAP submissions according to customer requirements
  3. Involved with customer-specific Safe Launches
  4. Participates in the transition from safe launch to series production

OTHER: (e.g. authorizations, authority to issue directives, information rights):

  1. Training of associates to customer-specific procedures/work instructions
  2. Support continuous improvement as well as corrective and preventive actions

QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Support the RMF Quality Objectives
  2. Support the RMF Environmental Health and Safety Objectives

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

Education/Certifications:

  • 4 year technical degree (preferably ChE, EE, ME, IE, QE or Metallurgy)
  • Successful completion of formal problem-solving training (Ford TOPS 8D is preferred)
  • Formal training and certification in Project Management
  • ASQ CQM, CQE or CQT

Experience:

  • Experience at the Tier I or II automotive supplier or automotive OEM
  • Practical working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and methods
  • Proficiency in launching new products from concept to steady-state production

Knowledge and skills:

  • Proficiency with the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Proficiency with the application of the Ford TOPS 8D problem-solving methodology
  • Proficiency with the application of basic SPC
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products Excel, Word, Access, Project, Visio
