We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager who will manage and oversee numerous aspects of development projects. The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for supporting multiple projects in parallel to include coordinating deliverables with internal stakeholders and vendors for project execution, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, and within scope and budget. The Engineering Project Manager is supported by Engineering Management, but will facilitate between the multiple disciplines within Engineering, namely Hardware, Mechanical, Software, Firmware, and SQA. This position will be located at our Headquarters in Marlborough, MA reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts an engineering status meeting for each active development program with the leads of each discipline, Mechanical, Hardware, Software, Firmware, and SQA in attendance.
  • Tracks the minutes, issues, and risks as well as schedule impact.
  • Manages Agile project development teams and is experienced in Agile project management.
  • Maintains the schedules and coordinates deliverables across the engineering disciplines.
  • Maintains the central engineering online dashboard providing weekly updates to communicate status on all programs in development across Doble.
  • Coordinates and drives external vendors for prototype manufacturing and assembly.
  • Tracks prototype material and disposition within engineering.
  • Maintains and coordinates priorities among the engineering projects.
  • Integrates external vendor deliverables into the overall development schedule.
  • Supports Jira tracking reports and closure metrics.
  • Supports the team and develops actions through tracking of quality metrics from production.

DECISION-MAKING LATITUDE

  • Coordinates the team through project change management in schedule, quality, or change in scope.
  • Project Risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Change of priority in tasks to accomplish fastest time to market.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, or related field OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-4 years of Project Management or Customer Management experience managing small to medium projects.
  • Scheduling and tracking project deliverables.
  • Hands-on experience with project management software, Confluence, Jira, Kanban.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):

  • PMP Certification or equivalent.
  • SCRUM Master Certification.
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering or the Electrical Utility Industry.
  • Basic technical understanding of test equipment product portfolio design and functionality.
  • Process improvement experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work with leads to facilitate prioritization.
  • Ability to understand the critical path and reorder tasks to improve throughput.
  • Ability to organize, manage and report on existing open tasks and work.
  • Experience with Atlassian toolset, specifically Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with MS-Office with particularly strong skills in Word, Visio, and Excel, Teams.
  • A high degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and deal with a diverse set of problems.
  • Strong organizational skills to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and work independently in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Ability to respond well under pressure, solve problems with innovative solutions.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills to validate the requirements/scope of a project and present information to all levels of the organization.
