Job Requirements / Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process Development and Optimization:
    • Oversee the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with industry/quality standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
    • Utilize lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  2. Align activities and efforts to support One Fiber Glass Systems initiative, with supporting standardization and optimization efforts across multiple facilities manufacturing similar products. Including data governance, quality standards, and specifications where appropriate.
  3. Nurture a culture that’s collaborative and an environment where employees are valued, trusted, and accountable.  Incorporate NOV pulse results into culture focused activities and initiatives. 
  4. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback to team members. Participate in recruitment, evaluations, and promotions of employees. Conducts training and coaching for employees in new work roles/tasks, safety procedures, and company policies. 
  5. Must adhere to all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs, including the process map, support processes, health, safety, and environmental requirements for example.
  6. All other duties as assigned.
  7. Leadership and Strategy:
    • Develop and implement the manufacturing engineering strategy aligned with the company’s overall objectives.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing/process engineers and technical professionals across multiple FGS locations. 
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
  8. Quality Assurance:
    • Collaborate with the quality assurance and operations team to strengthen our quality control systems.
    • Ensure that all manufacturing processes meet the required quality standards and specifications, and that procedural and training documentation is current and accurate. 
    • Address and resolve any process-related issues that impact product quality.
  9. Technical Support:
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the production team to resolve manufacturing issues.
    • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of production problems.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  10. Project Management:
    • Manage large-scale engineering projects/capital projects from conception through completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
    • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
  11. Budgeting and Cost Control:
    • Develop and manage department budget.
    • Support proposals for capital projects across facilities as required. 
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce production costs.
    • Ensure efficient use of resources without compromising on quality.
    • Manage item BOM Creation/Standards within Teamcenter & Omega Systems

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field preferred, and/or equivalent industry experience. 
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale process improvement initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Composites Manufacturing or related industry experience an asset.
  • Understanding of ERP system operation and function
  • Excellent communication skills, including problem resolution and motivational skills.
