Boston Government Services (BGS) is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer to support structural engineer scopes of work in the Idaho Falls, ID location.
Boston Government Services is an engineering, technology, and security firm helping to advance missions of national importance for government programs, national laboratories, national security facilities, nuclear operations, and complex projects. We support clients at every stage, from strategic planning and program management to the execution of engineering and technical activities.
Responsibilities:
- Application of engineering and construction knowledge:
- Develop complete structural design of various structural systems using the appropriate building and material codes.
- Evaluate existing concrete and steel structures and provide written reports on deficiencies for client review.
- Design:
- Prepares clear, complete, and concise calculations, including software analysis models.
- Coordinates work with other disciplines.
- Responsible for producing well-organized structural engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Construction Support:
- Reviews shop drawings and submittals for specification compliance.
- Performs site visits and prepares observation reports documenting progress and deficiencies.
- Responds to all Request for Information (RFI’s) and provides construction support as required.
- Leadership:
- Leads structural staff working under his/her direction.
- Mentors' junior engineers and designers to help with professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering.
- Minimum Five (5) years of engineering project experience in nuclear and industrial facilities.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Successful drug screening.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Eight (8) to Fifteen (15) years of DOE, NRC, or DOD environment.
- MS Office, STAAD, MathCAD, RISA, SAFE, AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit.
Location/Work Arrangement:
- This position is located in Idaho Falls, ID and is a Hybrid Work Arrangement.
