Software Development Engineer II, Front End

As a Front-end Software Development Engineer, you will prototype, design, and implement various portal capabilities in collaboration with teammates. You would have experience building and supporting public-facing web applications which are interactive, performant, and at scale.


What You'll Do


  • Participate in the design, development, and deployment efforts of React-based plug-ins for multiple enterprise application projects to solve complex business problems.
  • Own and deliver tested and optimized high-performance code for public-facing, enterprise web portals applications.
  • Participate in the resolution of production issues and develop solutions to prevent future issues from happening again.
  • Collaborate with Team Developers, Program Managers, Testers, and Production Support Engineers in an agile development environment.

Who You Are


  • Bachelor’s in arts or science or in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
  • Collaborates with team members to co-develop and solve problems.
  • Proactively reaches out to meet peers across the environment and collaborates to solve problems.
  • Takes advantage of opportunities to build new technical expertise in a specific engineering area.
  • Seeks knowledge from subject matter experts when needed.
  • Understands the importance of system and technology integration and the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process.
  • Develops and tests standard software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements.
  • Applies software design principles, data structures and/or design patterns, and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular with good naming conventions.
  • Experience in web-based UI development, you have worked on enterprise web portal and have helped operationalize it.
  • 2-4+ years of experience in front-end and backend development.
  • Experience building full-stack applications with React, Node.js or similar tools within the JS ecosystem.
  • Solid knowledge of modern web standards and technologies (ES6, CSS/Sass, HTML 5, etc).
  • A passion for solving complex software engineering puzzles in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Required: React, Redux, CSS/Sass, HTML 5, D3, Javascript, Node.js, Express.
  • Preferred: AWS (or similar Cloud platform), GIT, Docker, Splunk, Jenkins/Bamboo (modern build systems).
  • Mobile web development experience is a plus.
  • Experience using bug/issue tracking and code review tools is a plus.
  • Contributions to open-source projects would be a plus.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $112,000.00 to $156,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $179,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
