This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal.What will you be doing?This position will be a key member of the Prototype Engineering team. Duties include:Technician to work CNC Turning operationsProgram, setup, and run parts on 3axis machine independently. Including OD turning, boring, threading, profilingPrograming experience requiredHAAS experience. Doosan experience a plusBe able to complete in-process inspections in open setup (mics, calipers, thread measurements) and optical comparator (angles and overlays)Be able to inspect parts coming off CNC machines for visual defects and workmanshipExperience interpreting blueprints, beginner knowledge of GD&TDeburr and clean components before & after machining operationsMaintain traceability on material alloys and raw materials being machined for each jobKnowledge of cutting tools, insert gradesMaintain CNC machine, including basic maintenance, and workspace professionalismBasic computer skills to enter inspection data, JobBOSS, etc.Work and communicate well with a team of 75 Engineers and Technicians to efficiently complete assigned tasksWhat skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?This position will require the following skillsets and experience:Must be able to obtain a clearance through the DoD security background investigation process4-8 years of experience requiredLooking for independently capable (work experience can vary if the applicant is proficient)Pass drug and alcohol testingMust have good mechanical skills and experienceHigh standard of quality and efficiencyEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAny milling/other MFG experience would be beneficialSolid knowledge of shop mathematicsMust be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordinglyBasic PC knowledge (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Must be able to work in a physical capacity, lifting and moving heavy objectMust be a US CitizenMust have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a government driver’s licenseHigh School diploma required; College degree not required but beneficialPast or present military personal are encouraged to applyRead about our benefits here: Our Benefits - UTRS | Thinking ForwardUTRS is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
