Nesco Resource is seeking an Principal Electrical/Electronic Engineer for one of our clients in Naugatuck, CT. This is a newly created position and an exciting opportunity to work on technology that is newly mandated by law all across Europe and widely implemented throughout the U.S.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance electro-mechanical systems.
- Creation of electrical designs and specifications.
- Preparation of circuit diagrams, PCBA design, terminal diagrams and parts lists.
- Construction and commissioning of functional samples and their optimization.
- Execution and documentation of design validation tests.
- Prepare and maintain company products for agency approvals.
- Elaboration of solutions up to a product suitable for serial production
- Preparation of production documentation.
- Support of the production with all electrical questions.
- Active cooperation with experts from different departments both internally and externally.
- Create electronic or electrical specifications in 2D including harness drawings.
- Reinforce, support and adhere to company engineering processes.
- Identify areas of weakness in the production line or finished products and make recommendations for improvements.
- Provide input for process development.
- Coordinates design changes based on manufacturing challenges.
- Provide Engineering design support in collaboration with other teams to help resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Actively maintain knowledge of new technologies, methods and techniques.
- Actively support and participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Mentor, teach and share with future early career Engineers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 12 years of experience in electrical or electronics engineering design work, E-plan, SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD 2D.
- Experience with Machine Vision systems, cameras and image processing, AI usage in image processing and object recognition.
- Strong communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management, external customers and vendors.
- Experience with design, development of control cabinets and commissioning of machines.
- Experience with industrial sensors.
- Experience in electrical design with E-Plan or a comparable software.
- Experience in automation technology a plus.
- Strong technical, analytical and creative thinking skills.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma and or structured problem-solving methods.
- Very good English language skills; Romanian or German as a second language a plus.
- Experience working independently but also enjoy working in a team environment.

- Salary range: $120K - $160K depending on education/experience
