The Core Services team within Fulfillment provides the functionality needed to create, update and track demand and supply lifecycles, which power the Lyft rider and driver clients.

As a Software Engineer on the Core Services team, you will work on enhancing the performance and reliability of the tech stack, simplifying and platformizing the tech stack to enable faster product iteration and contribute to Lyft’s business critical matching execution initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, deploy, monitor, operate and maintain existing or new elements of the core services tech stack
  2. Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
  3. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
  4. Proactively participate in resolving ongoing incidents
  5. Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices
  6. Unblock, support, and communicate with internal partners to achieve results

Experience:

  1. 2+ years of software engineering industry experience working on distributed systems and microservices
  2. BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience
  3. Experience with object-oriented programming
  4. Experience working with distributed systems
  5. Experience working with databases, relational or NoSQL
  6. Experience writing clear and scalable design documentation
  7. Experience designing, building and improving a set of team owned components

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid

The expected base pay range for this position in the Seattle area is $124,000 - $155,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
