Location open to all major service locations in Montana and South Dakota will be considered (Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Great Falls, Helena, Missoula)QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:Bachelor's Degree from four-year accredited college in associated discipline such as Computer Science, Business and Information Technology, or other relevant degree; an equivalent combination of education and related experience may also be consideredThree years DBA experienceAbility to work in a team environment and adapt to changing responsibilities and prioritiesWorking knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases for on-premise and cloud based deploymentsDemonstrated knowledge of database concepts, such as schema design, triggers, queries, transaction logs, stored procedures and performance tuningExperience with SQL Server Reporting and Integration Services development and supportAbility to work with data architects and other IT specialists to setup, maintain and monitor data networksKnowledge of database structure languages such as SQL or SQL/PSMExperience with database installation, patches and upgradesExperience with database maintenance, database backup and recoveryFamiliarity with database management best practicesKnowledge of IT security best practices Strong sense of responsibility and ownership; driving a project from inception to completionAffinity for solving problems and diving deep into the detailsExcellent attention to detailStrong written/oral communication and documentation skillsAbility to do some travel, including day trips and overnight will be required, depending on work location and experienceAbility to work extended hours as necessaryAbility to participate in an on-call rotation scheduleAbility to pass a drug test and a background checkExperience managing high availability Oracle environments like Data Guard or Real Application Clusters a plusExperience with UNIX or Linux a plusExperience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) a plusUnderstanding of a virtual architecture, including virtual delivery of applications and desktops is preferredDUTIES INCLUDE:Perform database migrations and deploymentsManage deployment pipeline for schema deployments across landscapesMonitor, maintain and configure database servers for high-availability redundant and non-high-availability systemsConfigure servers and database to support applicationsDevelop and implement databases processes for optimizing security and performanceEnsure updates to all hardware and software as requiredMonitor the performance of hardware and softwarePreserve data integrityEffectively and efficiently organize, plan, execute and coordinate multiple work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion datesMaintain and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive informationAdhere to company safety and security standards and the Code of Business Conduct & EthicsEnsure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectivesFull-time position.$62,900 - $121,800 annually, depending on experience.
