Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced CNC Staff Technician to join our skilled machinist and production teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of Mastercam programming, hands-on experience with large CNC horizontal boring mills and CNC lathes, and a strong background in quality standards specific to aerospace machining. Key Responsibilities:
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC horizontal boring mills and large CNC lathes using Mastercam software.
  • Collaborate closely with machinists and production teams to ensure that projects are completed with the highest quality and precision.
  • Interpret complex aerospace engineering blueprints, GD&T symbols, and specifications to meet industry-specific tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Ensure all machining processes comply with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, or other relevant certifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CNC programming and machine performance.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify part quality, utilizing precision measuring instruments (CMM, micrometers, calipers).
  • Maintain and improve processes to optimize production efficiency and part quality.
  • Adhere to company safety standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement in quality and production processes.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC programming using Mastercam .
  • Proficient in the operation of CNC horizontal boring mills and CNC lathes .
  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of aerospace quality standards and inspection processes.
  • Solid background in GD&T , blueprint reading, and precision machining.
  • Strong commitment to producing high-quality parts while maintaining efficiency.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2008 , AS9100, or other industry-specific standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
