Job Overview:
As a Principal Cloud Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a complete data ecosystem using cloud-based data lake/warehousing technologies. In this role, you will leverage your strong data platform and data architecture skills to iteratively implement data-intensive solutions and drive efficiency through project leadership and a long-term vision. Build a Data Analytics Platform with cutting-edge technologies guided by principles of Agility, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as a code, and continuous innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the decision-making process related to the selection of software architecture solutions
- Implement architectures to handle web-scale data and its organization
- Execute strategies that inform data design and architecture partnering with enterprise standards
- Build robust data pipelines on the public Cloud using Airflow, AWS EMR, Glue, Kinesis, Kafka, Lambda or other technologies
- Ownership of design and implementation of scalable and fault tolerant ETL Pipelines on Big Data Platform to store and process terabytes of contract information from upstream sources with high availability
- Deep expertise in SQL language, Python, Hadoop ecosystem, and/or Spark ecosystem. Strong experience with writing complex programs, implementing architectures, and enabling automation in these environments
- Lead requirement analysis and design discussions with users, technical and business stakeholders and participate in all agile ceremonies with teams
- Very strong understanding of large databases/data warehouses and data architecture
- Understanding Sec/DevOps practices and tooling, with an emphasis on continuous implementation, deliver within a highly regulated environment.
- QA processes in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with executive presence.
- Communicates status of technology product and backlog readiness to outside team members
- Creates best practices for team members to follow to meet key objectives of the technology platform.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and big data architectures on AWS and Snowflake
- 8+ years of data engineering experience using SQL and ETL experience
- 5+ years of experience with Glue, S3, EMR, RDS
- Ability to learn new technologies such as DBT

Preferences:
- Hands-on experience with the creation and automation of Data pipelines and Machine learning pipelines, model training, testing, and deployment using Airflow, EMR, Glue, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- HVR and/or FiveTran experience highly preferred
- DevOps experience with Cloud Formation, Data, and ML pipeline experience.
Pay Range:
$127,040-$190,560/year
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
