This is a position with grade 14 and reports to Manager R&D Engineering 2.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will perform assignments requiring application of standard software development and engineering principles and practices. The work model for the role is Hybrid. Relocation assistance will be provided. The role is contributing to the Process Automation Process Control Platform division. You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Performing activities related to software development assignments using a full software development lifecycle model (Agile) following defined development processes.
2. Conducting requirement analysis which leads to software design and definition, estimation of effort, coding, and testing developed software. Additionally, activities include support to documenting developed software and responding to customer-reported issues.
3. Working in a collaborative environment for all aspects of product development (design, implementation, test, and support).
4. Contributing to group meetings and providing status updates on development tasks for progress reporting.
5. Troubleshooting and resolving routine problems and assisting in resolving more complex issues.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field required and a minimum of 4 years of related experience required.
• Experience developing software using a software development lifecycle model and Microsoft technologies, including C++, C#, Visual Studio, and Web Services.
• Ability to communicate effectively and resolve routine problems.
• Minimal domestic travel required.
• We are unable to sponsor an employment visa at this time for this role. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
