Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems. Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects. Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects. Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignmentJob SummaryThe Packaging Innovation Engineer II is responsible for leading innovation initiatives with a focus on i) sustainable packaging solutions that promote the circular economy and ii) alternative packaging solutions from inception to execution.Essential FunctionsGenerate out-of-the-box innovative ideas for ways to gain a competitive edge in the market.Take innovation initiatives through all phases of product development:Research novel packaging solutions, determine project feasibility, and identify potential road blocks for projects.Independently run experiments in lab and perform pilot testing on lab equipment to validate new packaging concepts.Create packaging test methods and SOPs for novel testing procedures.Work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead projects to completion.Support manufacturing, product development, and packaging development with timely technical recommendations.Present and communicate results internally and externally.Travel to perform on-site tests in manufacturing plants (up to 25% travel).Please note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
