CNC Machinist

Job Summary :
The CNC Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts. This role involves studying work orders and blueprints, setting up mills and lathes, and ensuring quality production through careful measurement and troubleshooting.
Job Responsibilities :

• Program CNC mills and lathes, entering necessary instructions such as zero and reference points, offsets, and tools.
• Plan machining tasks based on work orders, blueprints, and material availability.
• Perform calculations using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry to ensure accuracy in part programs.
• Set up mills and lathes, adjusting chucks, tools, gears, and other machine components.
• Load material and verify machine settings by measuring positions and testing sample pieces.
• Oversee machining operations including cutting, drilling, grooving, turning, and thread chasing.
• Troubleshoot and adjust machining processes, reprogram controls, and replace worn tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot machine malfunctions, and request necessary repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in programming or operating CNC mills or lathes.
• Technical training or education related to CNC machines.
• Experience in the plastics industry is a plus.
• Experience with Tsugami or similar machines is helpful.
• Proficiency in G and M Code programming.
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal communication skills.
• Skilled in tooling setup and operation.
