Structural Engineer/Principal
Job Description
Looking for a structural engineer with experience working in a variety of building types. This person will be responsible for reviewing designs, performing calculations, and project managing. The ideal candidate would have experience with commercial warehouse building including food storage, industrial buildings for manufacturing, office buildings, retail spaces, restaurants, and multi-family buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Function as Principal-in-charge of structural projects
- Act as Professional Engineer to stamp off on projects and lead a team of 3 Structural Engineers
- Partner with Architecture Principal to create budgets, invoices, and review monthly accounts payable and receivable
- Manage projects in commercial and industrial building types
- Review designs for quality assurance and quality control
- Perform structural calculations
- Draft construction drawings using AutoCAD or Revit
- Visit client sites for field inspections
- Manage projects from start to finish, including reviewing designs, performing calculations, managing a team of engineers, and communicating with clients regarding timelines and budgets
- Handle up to 10 projects simultaneously, ranging from small 1-day projects like equipment anchorage design to large 5-6 month building restoration projects
- The majority of projects are industrial, including warehouses, facilities, and food storage
