Reporting to the VP, IT Infrastructure, this position is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining existing systems and ensuring that systems remain available and secure. The position monitors the stability, integrity and efficiency of the systems environment and provides technical expertise that supports critical business functions. The role will continuously monitor and review solutions that will enhance the system to meet and exceed business needs.
The role will develop processes and procedures to manage the server environment, including management and improvement of the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery for the server environment to ensure the server system environment meets the criteria for internal and external audits and inspections.
The position partners closely with internal teams and external vendors in a cooperative environment to resolve issues and provide solutions. The Systems Engineer will act as a liaison between IT and internal stakeholders to ensure systems align with current and future business objectives.
What you will do for Fay:

  • Participate in architectural reviews and contribute to overall system architecture strategy
  • Design, plan, and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions to drive innovation and efficiency
  • Manage and implement recovery plans and solutions in the server environment to ensure data integrity and business continuity
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize system performance, capacity, and reliability
  • Propose and Implement solutions to enhance system efficiency and scalability
  • Analyze business needs and recommend technical solutions that align with current and future business objectives
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into system solutions
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex support issues
  • Provide efficient deployment of systems and partner with internal technical teams to ensure a seamless user experience
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues swiftly and efficiency
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system design, configurations, and operational procedures
  • Prepare regular reports on system health and performance metrics.
  • Participate in hardware and software evaluations
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices
  • Recommend industry best practices regarding all items that are owned by the team
  • Partner with internal stakeholders at all organizational levels to ensure project deliverables are met efficiently and on time
  • Develop domain knowledge of Fay's business to include an understanding of organizational objectives
  • Maintain broad influence through ongoing development of relationships across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with Fay's policies, processes, and practices. Successfully complete all department and company-required training
  • Model Fay's Values, Operating Principles, ethical standards, professionalism, and code of conduct
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What you will bring to Fay:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years implementing large-scale infrastructure initiatives
  • 3+ years' experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
  • 3+ years of experience in providing Level 2/Level 3 operations support for a Windows-based infrastructure
  • 2+ years' experience with VMware vSphere
  • 2+ years' experience with Windows Active Directory including implementation
  • 2+ years' experience managing DNS/DHCP
  • 2+ years' experience managing Group Policies
  • 2+ years' experience using PowerShell-based scripting
  • Visio and diagramming experience
  • Strong understanding of networking for storage architectures; experience in iSCSI, NFS, FC protocols
  • Strong Understanding of networking and troubleshooting including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Application support experience with Microsoft Windows Server, VMware Horizon View; thin-client technologies and Terminal Services, Azure Virtual Desktop, iSCSI Storage, Fax and Print Servers
  • Working knowledge of VMWare 6.0+ including implementation
  • Working knowledge of connecting and managing cloud environments, primarily Microsoft Azure
  • Experience in all Windows-based OS's (Microsoft 2008 & 2012 Server Operating System, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems) with an understanding of Microsoft Exchange applicationsProficient in the Microsoft M365 suite
  • Experience in the financial services or mortgage industry preferred
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities and propose solutions
