A San Diego, CA-based general contractor focused on affordable housing is on the lookout for a talented Project Engineer to enhance their team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Project Manager, coordinating efforts between contractors, suppliers, and design teams to drive project success. Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 / year DOE
Project Engineer Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of project engineering experience
  • MUST have worked on at least 1 full-cycle commercial / large-scale construction OR multifamily project
  • Basic understanding of Procore and Bluebeam
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Projects
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Ability to think critically, and work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Thorough written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be comfortable working in a dog-friendly office
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for project visits is preferred
  • Ability to work onsite 100% at their office in San Diego, CA
Project Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Support the Project Manager in day-to-day tasks and project coordination amongst contractors, suppliers, and design team
  • Review submittals and contract documents for completeness and compliance
  • Maintain project schedules, track delays and ensure timely updates are provided
  • Track and maintain spending to ensure projects remain in-budget
  • Review subcontractors change orders, assist with bidding and buying processes
  • Coordinate deliveries and lead times to ensure uninterrupted workflow
  • Produce and maintain CPM schedules for projects
  • Create scopes of work for all trades and subcontract exhibits
