Position Title: Project Engineer
Job Location: Chicago, IL
Description:
Project Engineers for Chicago, IL location. Responsibilities include:
- Perform site evaluations and prepare field survey reports.
- Prepare Basis of Design documents.
- Perform HVAC load calculations.
- Analyze existing and design new HVAC systems.
- Coordinate with architect, structural engineer, and other disciplines.
- Edit mechanical engineering specifications per project requirements.
- Prepare construction documents for bids and permits.
- Review and ensure IMC, ASHRAE, and LEED compliance per project requirements.
- Review submittals and shop drawings.
- Provide responses to RFIs.
- Perform above ceiling and final punch and prepare punch list documents.
- Perform commissioning of mechanical equipment and prepare commissioning reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field plus four years of experience in a Mechanical engineering position required.
Required Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC nomenclature, design techniques, materials, system components, construction techniques, related engineering systems, and building codes.
- Experience with reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical documents, specifications, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Proficiency in CAD and Revit.
- Experience with Trane TRACE.
- Experience with preparing comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Professional Engineer License required. 10% domestic travel required. $122,221/yr.
