Job Summary:

The Sr. Supply Chain Engineering Manager is responsible for directing, managing, and supervising assigned employees and contracted non-employees. Oversee all aspects of the bid process, including supply chain engineering, dedicated modeling, and pricing. Lead a team of supply chain engineers, collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that optimize and improve supply chain operations.


Required: e.g., Role leads individuals who work remotely and can be performed remotely with sporadic trips to our office in Eagan MN.


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement advanced strategies to optimize transportation routes, ensuring timely delivery while minimizing costs and fuel consumption.
  • Engage with key customers and internal stakeholders to understand their needs and develop strategic, tailored supply chain solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supply chain engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Oversee and analyze costs associated with transportation and logistics, implementing strategies to improve overall efficiency and profitability.
  • Direct and participate in complex pricing and bid functions, including responding to customer inquiries, monitoring win rates, reviewing pricing agreements, and providing strategic guidance.
  • Accountable for annual customer rate review process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of individual customer contract reviews.
  • Manage Prioritization List, while overseeing the workflow of employees and contracted non-employees, including assigning and prioritizing ongoing projects, while balancing individual workloads.
  • Demonstrate and coach the team on advanced use of Appian DirectRoute, ResourcePro, and other supply chain engineering software.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership on company-wide pricing initiatives.
  • Manage Team KPIs to monitor productivity, measure individual performance, and provide insights on team effectiveness.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to improve pricing systems, procedures, policies, and workflow processes, enhancing overall effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.


Knowledge, Experience & Key Competencies:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in pricing and/or analytics, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Relevant education may partially substitute for the required years of experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience in the transportation industry, with Dedicated Contract Carriage knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiating with external parties (customers or vendors) to complete transactions and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Travel: Employee is occasionally required to travel to customer meetings, corporate events, or other engagements.
