We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is excited to apply their talents to delivering cutting-edge solutions on the FORGE MDPAP program as part of the messaging team. We seek people who desire application of their talent to Outside Analytics' core values of advancing people and mission across both commercial and US Government markets. The ideal candidate is a recognized professional with hands-on technical expertise with an excellent understanding of technical engineering concepts.

Position is located on-site at prime's office in Boulder, Colorado, 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as software architects, program managers, designers, and other engineers to design, develop and test software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
• Analyze user requirements and develop software specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that follows software development best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers.
• Debug and fix issues.
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure software quality.
• Deploy software applications to production environments.
• Maintain and update software applications to ensure they meet user needs and remain secure.
• Develop and maintain documentation.
• Mentor junior and mid-level team members.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in technology.

Clearance Requirement

• Position requires an interim or active DoD Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Candidate must agree to participate in a background screen.

Required Qualifications And Skills

• BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field
• 10+ years of experience specifically in a software engineering role
• Relevant, recent experience developing in recent C++ releases (3-5 years); experience with C++ 23 with GCC 13 a plus
• Experience with Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) and Real-time Transfer Service (RTS) communications
• Detail oriented
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Building backend web services and/or native applications
• Python
• Containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD and DevOps tools and methodologies
• Database design (e.g., Postgres, NoSQL)
• Messaging middleware (e.g., ZeroMQ, KAFKA)
• Atlassian tools
• Active DoD SECRET security clearance or higher

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $135,000 - $175,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
