Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Engineer to join our team in maintaining an industrial commercial property. As the Building Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the clean, efficient operation of the property. This role includes overseeing contractors who maintain and repair the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing as well as completing general maintenance tasks to ensure the portfolio runs smoothly and in a first-class manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Systems Maintenance: Perform daily inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. When more intensive repairs are needed, notify property management of this need.
- Project Assistance: Assist in facility improvement projects, new construction, or tenant fit-outs.
- Daily Inspections: Inspect the grounds of each property daily, and complete clean-up and general tasks to help operate the assets.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all facilities adhere to safety regulations and maintain up-to-date safety inspections.
- Tenant Relations: Respond to tenant requests, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure minimal downtime for their operations.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 3-5 years in building maintenance
Skills: HVAC, electrical, and plumbing system knowledge is a plus; ability to complete general repair tasks, such as painting, and drywall repairs is essential.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, perform tasks that require bending, crawling, and climbing ladders. Comfortable working in industrial environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, loading docks, and large manufacturing or warehouse spaces.
