POSITION SUMMARY

The primary function of this position is to assist with our daily cybersecurity operations. The main responsibility of this role is to review and assess security alerts generated by our systems, identify false positives, and determine which alerts require further investigation. This position will help streamline our security processes by handling routine tasks, allowing senior staff to focus on critical issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Reviewing and prioritizing alerts: Analyze security alerts generated by our systems to distinguish between false alarms and genuine threats.
  2. Employ cybersecurity tools to effectively analyze alerts.
  3. Filter out minor or irrelevant alerts to concentrate on significant security events.
  4. Manage tasks independently when possible using available resources to find solutions.
  5. Escalate critical concerns to the attention of senior team members.
  6. Support and assist in refining security policies to reduce unnecessary alerts caused by standard use activities.
  7. Other responsibilities as assigned.

TECHNOLOGY and TOOLS

  1. Ubiquity Wireless
  2. Powershell
  3. Python
  4. Active Directory
  5. Microsoft O365 and Entra
  6. Basic forensic data recovery
  7. Basic understanding of KQL
  8. Any experience in user training of basic cyber security knowledge

REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  2. Basic hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and concepts.
  3. Ability to assess alerts and identify potential security threats.
  4. Capable of finding solutions independently or through research.
  5. Understanding of when to seek assistance from senior staff.
  6. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and systems as needed.
  7. Ability to pass drug test and background verifications.
  8. Must be at least 18 years of age.
