BXTI is hiring across multiple business functions and levels, which makes this an exciting opportunity to get exposure to the full spectrum of work within the organization. This includes:

1. Liquid Market & Data Technology: Builds scalable, secure liquid markets trading platform and develops firmwide data strategy.
2. Private Equity & Real Estate Technology: Transforms businesses through new technology platforms, and optimal use of data solutions for asset management and portfolio oversight.
3. Client & Firmwide Platforms: Designs and builds leading investor reporting, finance platforms for accurate and deep insights for our investors and creates automated workflow solutions.
4. Cloud & Platform Engineering: Build and manages secure, scalable, reliable, cost-effective cloud platforms while deploying patterns and tooling to enhance developer productivity and experience.
5. Enterprise Technology: Builds and operates workplace engineering to enable the firm to communicate and collaborate more effectively through cutting-edge technologies.

As a Software Engineer in BXTI’s group, you will work with a cross-functional team of technologists that design, build, test, deploy, and support various applications and systems hosted on AWS. This work is instrumental for Blackstone in transforming the Alternative Asset Management industry through innovative technology solutions. Collaborating with product managers, you will drive business value while ensuring the delivery of high-quality code. You’ll tackle a variety of problems from scaling out infrastructure to promoting business efficiency through automating business processes.

Our internal applications leverage a highly scalable microservices architecture deployed on cloud-hosted containerized environment. Key technologies in our stack include React, FastAPI, Python, C#, Terraform, SQL, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Function, AWS DynamoDB, AWS S3, CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins), and data warehouse solutions like Snowflake.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain software solutions using Python, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, and SQL, ensuring code quality, scalability, reliability, and security.
2. Collaborate with teams to design and implement new features and applications, using Agile methodologies and JIRA.
3. Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Nginx, ensuring scalability and robustness.
4. Use of standard CI/CD tooling (Jenkins) to build and deploy application code in various environments.
5. Create, deploy, and maintain APIs and supporting microservices for integration with front-end applications and third-party applications.
6. Create pages in React while adhering to firm's design standards leveraging reusable components for seamless user experience for both desktop and mobile.
7. Participate in Agile ceremonies, lead technical design and code reviews, and troubleshoot software defects.
8. Provide technical support, automate repetitive tasks, and stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
9. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and provide business support.
10. Mentor junior developers, contribute to team culture, and be open to learning from senior engineers.

Qualifications:

1. 3+ years of full stack software development experience, proficient in C# and/or Python, databases (relational and/or NoSQL), and cloud technologies (preferably AWS).
2. Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and containerization technologies like Docker.
3. Experience with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum, and ability to manage projects from start to finish.
4. Deep understanding of RESTful API design, development, and scalable microservice architectures.
5. Ability to develop scalable, secure, and maintainable code with strong object-oriented programming experience.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
7. Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude, willing to teach, mentor others, and learn new technologies.
8. BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Expected annual base salary range:

$135,000 - $155,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
