Senior Linux Engineer

One of the world’s leading trading firms driven by technology has an exciting opportunity open for a Senior Linux Engineer. You are joining a team of highly skilled and experienced technologists tasked with maintaining and enhancing their large scale, globally deployed Linux-based platform.

This role comes with a huge amount of responsibility and requires someone motivated and driven to deliver the best results possible.

Your role:

• Take ownership of components on a global level, working with operational counterparts and customers to prioritize and execute on enhancements, extensions, and remediation in these critical components of our infrastructure.
• Use declarative configuration-as-code principles and extensive automation across a mixture of strategic engineering and design projects.
• Responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving Servers, Blades, Virtualization, and High-performance Storage.

What you need:

• knowledge of Linux, including familiarity with UNIX system calls, and low-level O/S and network protocols.
• Experience of using any modern config management system to automate the management of a large-scale Linux deployment.
• Experience scripting Python.
• Experience in Cloud technologies AWS.
