Position Overview: LynTec is seeking a creative and detail-oriented CAD Product Designer to join our engineering team. This role will focus on the design, development, and documentation of products using CAD software, ensuring that our products are both functional and manufacturable.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Product Design:
    • In collaboration with the LynTec Product Development team, participate on the design of the mechanical and structural aspects of new products using CAD software.
    • Create detailed 2D and 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications for new products.
    • Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate electrical components into product designs.
  • Product Documentation:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all product designs, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and manufacturing guides.
    • Ensure that all design documentation meets industry standards and LynTec's quality requirements.
  • Prototype Development:
    • Work closely with the prototyping team to develop and test product prototypes.
    • Make iterative design adjustments based on prototype testing and feedback.
  • Product Improvement:
    • Analyze existing product designs to identify areas for improvement in terms of manufacturability, cost, and performance.
    • Implement design changes and updates to enhance product quality and reduce production costs.
  • Collaboration and Project Management:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical engineering, and product management, to ensure seamless integration of product designs.
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in CAD-based product design, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
    • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) is highly desirable.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in design and documentation.
  • Creativity: Ability to develop innovative product designs that meet both functional and aesthetic requirements.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Typical Projects:
  • Designing new product enclosures, control panels, and mechanical components.
  • Developing detailed CAD models and drawings for manufacturing.
  • Collaborating with electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch climb or balance. The employee may be required to lift and move up to ten pounds unassisted and thirty pounds assisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment, but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels from products being assembled and tested, printers and other peripherals, as well as bright light levels from lighting fixtures being operated for purposes of product development and testing.
