Leidos Civil Transportation Solutions is seeking a Software Development Engineer who will be part of a dynamic team working on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), NextGen Air Traffic program.
Functions include:
- Real-Time Programming on High Availability Systems
- Multi-threaded programming
- Low Level Operating Systems Customization (RedHat, AIX)
- Low level communication software (TCP-IP, UDP, SCTP)
- System Maintenance Concepts
- Front and Backend LEAF architecture and design
Software Development Engineer Responsibilities:
- Detailed knowledge of Linux OS and OS concepts desirable.
- Developing and maintaining the FAA air traffic control software (primarily Ada95/C++) on a UNIX/Linux platform.
- There are a number of support/maintenance functions that utilize PERL/PYTHON.
- Coordinate Solutions with Systems Engineering.
- Coordinate the development of new capabilities and upgrade to common services provided the applications via APIs.
- CAS Integration Concepts ERAM Tools Development.
- LEAF support on various FAA centric programs, demos and opportunities as needed.
- Provide teaching / mentoring to junior levels.
- Act as a leader and an AWS/cloud service expert.
- Collaborate with team members across multiple areas.
- Provide leadership and guidance to support functions.
- Other software development related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires Bachelors of Science degree (Computer Science or Computer Engineering Degree) and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
- Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.
- Demonstrated Software Development Skills/Capabilities.
- Excellent Verbal and Communication Skills.
- Demonstrated ability to debug and solve problems.
- A Strong desire to learn.
- Work Experience in a Technical organization performing Software Engineering Tasks.
- Leadership Skills & Experience.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
