Software Developer

The Software Developer is responsible for researching, designing, developing, and testing operating systems-level software and network distribution software. Setting operational specifications and formulating and analyzing software requirements. May design embedded systems software.

Work Activities:

1. Develops software systems for testing or validation for internal operations and external products
2. Modifies existing software to improve performance
3. Directs software programming and development of subsequent documentation
4. Consults with other departments on projects and technical issues
5. Analyzes information to determine plan installation or modification of systems
6. Actively contributes to Open Source initiatives
7. Uses scientific analysis to measure outcome of design for improvement recommendations
8. Confers with product managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for processing projects
9. Stores, retrieves, and manipulates data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements
10. Proficient in modern programming languages and tech stacks
11. Deep understanding of the Linux operating system and networking concepts
12. Passion for solving challenging issues
13. Adapts to changing business needs and conditions
14. Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve common goals
15. Examines data to grasp issues, draw conclusions, and solve problems

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related degree and/or applicable work experience.
2. 3-5 years of relevant work experience
3. Extensive knowledge of Python/Perl or any modern object-oriented language

Preferred Requirements:

1. Experience with program testing software, SOA-style principles, Agile/Lean/Kanban, database management systems (SQL)
