Tech Lead Software Engineer (Android), TikTok Mobile Infrastructure

TikTok Mobile Architecture & Infrastructure Team is dedicated to productivity and quality of TikTok APP's engineering projects, empowering hundreds of TikTok mobile developers in areas including infrastructure, app architecture, engineering tool chains, and app foundations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build mobile infrastructure and tools to enhance engineering efficiency
2. Analyze and optimize UI and infrastructure application code for better performance
3. Develop and maintain reusable Android app components
4. Collaborate with product engineering teams to deliver technical solutions and best practices
5. Optimize the project structure and workflow to improve engineering productivity, efficiency, and quality
6. Drive architecture innovations to support world-class mobile app development

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
2. 5+ years of industry experience in Android development
3. Experience in building and shipping complex, business-critical Android app products with frequent iteration
4. Deep understanding of design patterns and principles with a broad knowledge of Android techstack
5. Familiar with Jetpack and/or other open source Android libraries, such as RxJava, Retrofit, Litho, etc.
6. Deep understanding of Android SDK to create scalable, and highly performant UI components
7. Working knowledge of remote APIs, concurrency, layouts, transitions, animations, client-side persistence, and architectural patterns on mobile apps

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working in a complex, matrix organization involving cross-functional and/or cross-business projects
2. Experience working in a mobile architecture/infrastructure team with deep understanding of the techstack in these projects
3. Experience in sub-engineering areas such as performance optimization, toolchain, automated testing, design pattern, etc.
4. Strong communication skills; enjoy working as a team while being comfortable with delivering large business outcomes independently.

Job Information:

Compensation Description (annually):

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $224,000 - $410,000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
