Job Purpose

Lead new model projects to mass production in the Plastics department while ensuring all project targets are achieved in each of the Safety Environmental Quality Delivery Cost Morale (SEQDCM)categories

Key Accountabilities

  • New Model Project Planning - Develop SEQDCM project targets, manage Manufacturing Mangement Center (MMC)based investment/expense items, support new model department investigation items, Coordinate tooling maturation with Plastics Engineering Business Unit (PEBU). Conduct and lead department cross functional meetings related to the project
  • Prepare and Present New Model Presentations - Develop and present all New Model reporting documents per plant direction. Support reporting at each evaluation event, get mass production results per SEQDCM and future model reflections
  • Lead Department Line Trial Events - Coordinate and support try, build event, die delivery schedule with Forming groups, Paint and PEBU. Coordinate sample material delivery schedules. Coordinate parts delivery, design level, handwork quality with other departments.
  • Mass Production Readiness - Assure all Forming Training of all effected associates per project. Verify mass production baskets in house before mass production, verify quality database is setup, verify Production reporting systems (GPCS) is setup, verify all line side required documentation is ready


Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • BSME, BSEE or equivalent experience required
  • 2 - 8 years of experience based on education
  • Verbal, written and face to face communication 
  • Manage projects to assure deliverables are achieved
  • Computer work such as ACAD, CATIA, and Office programs
  • At the spot collection and analysis of data
  • Hands on support of equipment
  • Create and track project schedules
  • Good Communications Skills, Interpersonal skills to function in a team environment
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly

Workstyle

  • Office Environment ~45%
  • Manufacturing Environment  ~45%
  • Weekend and daily overtime estimate 5-10 hours per week. 
  • Travel 1-2 times per year as needed. ~10% . Must be willing to work/travel if needed. 
  • Fast paced environment requiring ability to change focus quickly.
  • Primary working hours 6:30am -3:00pm Monday to Friday with occsional off-shift and weekends required.
