The HRIS developer applies systems engineering and architecture design methods, processes, tools, and techniques to analyze total systems, technology, and process integration requirements across multiple applications. The HRIS developer works closely with process and system owners, information technology management, peers, and technical staff to ensure the relevance of architecture and system designs to business process requirements.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Systems Administration - 45%• Design, develop, and maintain data structures, data models, and data store architecture for the HRIS team, ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of HR data. • Perform data design, administration, and quality assurance functions, including data analysis, validation, cleansing, collection, and reporting. • Work with UW-IT app management, enterprise data and integration team, and other stakeholders to build Workday and Workday supporting reports and integrations, using Workday Studio, EIB, BIRT, and other tools. • Create, maintain and expand HR applications, such as the compensation and classification system, the employee self-service portal, the HR dashboard, and others, using various programming languages and web development tools. • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and documentation for the HR applications and systems, and resolve computing system issues. • Work with HR staff to clarify system requirements, reports and applications, and provide information and assistance with computing tools and systems.HRIS Development – 45%• Participate in the ongoing development, test, deployment and support of systems and reporting, and ensure the compatibility and integration of HR systems with other applications and platforms. • Develop systems models and analyze alternatives and risks, and evaluate system constraints and define system integration and testing requirements. • Develop requirements, designs, and processes in support of technical proposals, and apply knowledge of company business domains to analyze system problems. • Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in HR information systems and technologies, and influence technology direction, advance the state of the art, and develop system and architecture design methods and tools. • Maintain strict confidentiality concerning a variety of sensitive HR issues and data, and adhere to the principles of accessibility, security, and best practices in design and development.Miscellaneous - 10%• Perform related duties as required.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent experience. • Minimum of 3 years of professional IT experience developing and maintaining database driven applications and/or web sites. • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR information systems, data design, administration, and architecture, or related field, experience must include analysis using large complex databases and data store systems.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS• Extensive experience with a database management system i.e. SQL Server, Access, Oracle; programming languages i.e. SQL, Visual Basic, Python, R. • Experience with Workday data structure, technology and integration platforms, and Workday tools such as Workday Studio, EIB, BIRT, or similar software applications. • Experience in systems analysis experience, including requirements gathering, functional design, and technical design. • Working knowledge of web browser technology, features, and functionality, and web, data and application security issues and best practices. • Proven experience with unit and systems testing, and test driven development or other agile methodologies. • Demonstrated initiative, follow-up and the ability to prioritize effectively. • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction, independently and as part of a team. • Demonstrated exceptional organizational, planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting skills. • Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS• Related work experience in a HR (preferred), Payroll or Financial systems environment. • Knowledge of UW administrative computing systems, technological environment and infrastructure directions desirable. • Experience with web development tools and languages such as ASP, PHP, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, and .NET technology. • Knowledge of IT accessibility issues for users with disabilities; familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices; experience testing for accessibility; and demonstrated ability to design content/applications with accessibility considerations.WORKING CONDITIONSHybrid schedule – office environment and remote.
