Geotechnical Staff Engineer (EIT)
Location:  Denver, CO
Compensation:  $80-$90k Salary

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting visual classification of soil and bedrock specimens
  • Orchestrating laboratory tests on selected samples to comprehensively assess subsurface conditions, enabling recommendations for development, pavement, and foundation strategies
  • Executing settlement analysis, calculating bearing capacity, determining lateral earth pressure, conducting slope stability assessments, and designing retaining walls
  • Drafting geotechnical engineering reports tailored for residential, commercial, industrial, and educational projects
  • Undertaking on-site inspections for various projects, involving day-trip travel only
  • Overseeing multiple projects and clientele across the Front Range area
  • Facilitating communication among clients, contractors, architects, municipalities, and fellow engineers
  • Providing mentorship and training to staff engineers and drilling technicians
  • Assist Project Managers in geotechnical field evaluations
  • Perfomring subsurface evaluations, supervison of subcontractos, logging and calssifying soils in the field
  • Assisting in reviewing construction documents including plans and specifications
  • Compiling geotechnical laboratory testing data, geotechnical calculations and calculations or slop stability and foundation capacities

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. / B.A. (Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) designation
  • 2+ years of direct experience
