My client is a leading innovator in financial technology and trading, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology to create impactful solutions. We are currently seeking a talented Lead Data Engineer with a strong background in software engineering and experience in data engineering, particularly in the realm of security.
As the Lead Data Engineer with a focus on security, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and optimization of data pipelines, tools, and products to enhance our security operations, detection, and response capabilities. While prior leadership experience is not required, we are seeking individuals with strong soft skills and the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and inspire others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines to support security operations, detection, and response efforts.
- Collaborate with security analysts, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions.
- Utilize your expertise in data engineering and security to innovate and optimize data processing and analysis workflows, with a focus on leveraging Spark and other relevant technologies.
- Demonstrate strong soft skills, including effective communication, collaboration, and the ability to inspire and motivate others, to lead the team by example.
- Evangelize creative approaches to leveraging data for security purposes and contribute to the development of cutting-edge security products and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on data engineering, preferably in a security-related context.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and extensive experience with Spark for large-scale data processing.
- Solid understanding of data processing techniques and tools (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka) and experience with distributed computing environments.
- Familiarity with security concepts and technologies is highly desirable.
- Excellent soft skills, including communication, collaboration, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
