Job Title: Data EngineerSummaryKen Garff Automotive Group is looking for a passionate, persistent, humble, and hungry Data Engineer that can help transform and mature Ken Garff’s Data Management & Analytics team . Ken Garff truly lives the motto of “We hear you ”; this motto applies to all we do within our corporate and regional teams. This individual will be part of the back-end data function of the Data Management & Analytics team . Reporting to the Director of Engineering , this position will ETL data, design data models , and manage integrations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate, Update, and Maintain multiple relational DB systems . T-SQL, MySQL, Snowflake ( migration happening now ) , Procedures/Functions/ etc …Utilize Informatica Cloud (IICS) to rapidly prototype out designs and support data engineering.Data Engineering Tasks: ELT/ETL /Data Pipelines following best practices and standards developed by the team.Understand the needs of the business and assist in aligning the strategic goals and tactical objectives to decisions made with data .Working with other members of the Data & Analytics team to understand business requirements and develop ing new data products .Data validation, testing, QA of new and existing data products.Maintenance & Updates of our Snowflake & SQL Server platform consisting of a large quantity of Stored Procedures/Functions / API DevelopmentProvide excellent customer service with timely , accurate , and courteous responses to all team members .Participate in the on-call rotation for monitoring our data pipelines/platform.Utilize JIRA/Confluence to document, track, and record work.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Currently, the IT team works Mon/Wed /Fri in office , with business stakeholder days varying .Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstratable f luency in SQL querying with large, complex datasets ( Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server , MySql ) and hands on experience in developing stored procedures, table value functions, and views.Prior utilization of ETL tools and technology (IICS, airflow, spoon, API s )Self-directed and analytical , and comfortable working in ambiguous environmentsProblem solver and an agent for change and innovationAbility to analyze data and determine connection between business processes and determine data transformation requirements .Knowledge of project/process management tools for work analysis (JIRA, TEMPO, etc.. )Required Education and ExperienceBachelor s or advanced degree of Technology, Engineering or related field will be important in this role, along with a minimum of 2 years progressive experience.
