STV currently has an opening in our Boston, MA office for a Water Resources Engineer in our Transportation Division. This person will perform a variety of tasks which may include quality control, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, GIS analysis, fieldwork, and coordination of tasks and personnel. The ideal candidate will have water resources engineering experience including experience with the following:
- Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis (1D & 2D modeling)
- Design of rivers/waterways, stormwater systems, and sanitary systems
- Water distribution systems
- FEMA floodplain studies and Risk MAP program
- Applicable regulations, policy, standards, technical references, and guidance
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Working with clients and multi-disciplinary design teams on a wide range of transportation and infrastructure projects
- Overseeing the preparation of reports, studies, and construction documents for roadway, highway, rail, utility, site development and water resources projects
- Mentoring junior civil engineering staff
- Assisting with the preparation of marketing proposals
The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following skills & experience:
- BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering or Physical Sciences
- PE Licensed - MA is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with at least 2 years of work experience in watershed modelling, culvert analysis, site, transportation, highway and roadway design, or closely related consulting engineering field work
- Highly experienced in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, WaterGEMS, XP-SWMM, PC-SWMM, HydroCAD, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, InfoWorks, InfoWater, AutoDesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis Modeling, FLOW-3D (CFM), AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ARCGIS
- Experienced with the codes and standards of MassDOT, MassDEP, BWSC, MWRA, DEP, NHESP, USACE, Ch-91, Wetlands Protection Act, for land development project permitting
Compensation Range: $85,434.00 - $113,912.00
