Drafting Engineer

The Drafting Engineer will work in the Maintenance Department to create detailed technical drawings and schematics for use in the design, manufacture, and construction of products and structures. The role involves using CAD software, SolidWorks and sketch ups to prepare plans that guide production, construction, or other operations. The Drafting Engineer will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure designs are accurate, feasible, and meet project specifications.
Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.
• Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
• Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
• Supervises progress of development project.
• Collaborates with design group to change plans if problems arise.
• Analyzes equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
• Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
• Collaborates with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems.
• Collaborates with project engineers from other plants to share problems and solutions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Fabricate and assemble engineered prototypes.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with SolidWorks or other related 3D rendering software.
• Has a strong electrical circuitry knowledge.
• Availability to work from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
