Join our innovative and dynamic People Technology engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will play an important role in developing and implementing digital solutions that solve mission critical business problems in supporting Walmart associates. Your projects will make a significant impact, be scalable, and drive Walmart's modernization efforts in the People Technology organization.

What you'll do:

  • You will use event driven and microservices powered to interact with SQL and No-SQL Databases to achieve the goal of paying the Walmart’s Suppliers timely, accurately, and efficiently with zero manual intervention.
  • You will be part of the application development team in software design and implementation, upholding our architectural patterns, design patterns, coding standards and quality principles.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs, micro services and components using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, RDBMS, NoSQL DB etc.
  • Utilize cloud tools and resources to scale storage and computations in Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure and to improve performance and cost reduction.
  • Perform design and code reviews, suggest improvements to ensure the highest level of quality and maintainability.
  • Oversee development lifecycles, analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis; Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams: product management, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results commitment to team success and positive team dynamics.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor of Science and 6 years’ experience or Master of Science with 4 years’ experience in software engineering.
  • Experience leading development projects in agile environment.
  • Strong aptitude for writing efficient code using Advanced Java.
  • Strong algorithm and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong skills in Java, Spring, JPA, JUnit, REST services, designs patterns, open-source tools.
  • Strong command over UI technologies like HTML 5, Java Script, React, Bootstrap.
  • Strong skills in messaging platforms like Kafka.
  • Strong test-driven development skills.
  • Good Experience of databases like DB2, MS SQL and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
  • Hands on experience in Cloud platforms (Azure), git, Jenkins, Kubernetes.
  • Scripting skills in at least one of the following - Shell, Bash.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications:

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
