LHH Recruitment Solutions has an opening for a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer for our client in the Bohemia, NY area. This direct hire role allows you to expand your engineering career within a state-of-the-art technology organization and you will be responsible for mechanical engineering of a project including system design, project planning, development and tracking of budgets, customer interface, and establishing and monitoring schedules. This on-site role requires a minimum of fifteen-years current experience in assembly of mechanical controls and safety circuitry as well as startups and testing. Candidates with experience in utilizing/working on imaging equipment and robotics highly preferred.
Salary range: $85,000.00 - $110,000 annually
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop and Install and assemble electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, parts, and components as determined upon schematics per national codes and standards
- Initialize and create concept drawings, design, assemblies and fabrications drawings as wellas BOMs and manuals.
- Review, approve and correct system design drawings and schematics.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create 2D and 3D designs.
- Perform tasks in accordance and compliance with US and European standards, defined quality standards, as well as all related organizational design and safety standards.
- Where and when possible and applicable, assist with the wiring of custom systems to include electrical panel building, machine wiring, pulling wire, terminating, bending conduit, wiring motors and system startup and testing.
- Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot/repair, and/or test systems (approximately 25%).
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned including but not limited to clean-up, light maintenance duties, material movement, inventory counts, crate/pallet building, furniture assembly, and forklift operation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
- Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in designing, integration, and fabrication of complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation in AutoCAD.
- Highly proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD.
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident legally authorized to work in the US.
- Must have valid and current US Driver's License.
- Must be willing and able to successfully pass a complete background check and drug test.
- Must be available and willing to work extended hours and weekends.
- Prior experience working with BOMS and or computerized MRP or ERP systems preferably MS Dynamics.
- Prior experience and solid understanding of motion control design along with motor/gearbox components and design.
- Working knowledge and experience with ISO and/or NQA-1 quality standards and procedures.
